Mikhail lomonosov was the university rector from 1758-1760.

It In the 18 th century several hundreds of students graduated from the university with degrees in history, philology, philosophy, law, physics, mathematics and oriental languages.

1953 Francis Crick and James Watson discover the structure of DNA, unlocking the secret of life.
